Service Description

The first half of class we practice Kundalini Yoga. This practice uses movement, breath and sound in specific sequence in order to awaken the Kundalini energy within. Each kriya or set of exercises, is designed to raise this powerful, primal energy, residing at the base of the spine, up through the seven chakras (energy centers) allowing us to remember who we truly are (one with creation) while uncovering the hidden potential within us. The second half of class we use our voices to tune our chakras and heal our minds, bodies and spirits from the inside out through the tones we create together. • Open to all levels. • Mats and blocks provided. Instructor bio: Alana completed the 200 hour Forrest Yoga Teacher Program in New Haven, CT in 2014 under the tutelage of Ana Forrest and taught this healing practice while living in Boston. She went on to study Kundalini Yoga and completed the 200 hour Kundalini Yoga Teacher Program in Millis, MA in 2017 taught by Master Kundalini instructor, Hari Kaur Khalsa. Alana moved back to Rochester in 2019 and is happy to share these practices with her community at home. Alana incorporates breath work, movement and sound as a means to quiet the mind and tap into the wisdom of the body in order to experience moments of peace and reconnection with the authentic Self.
